How Can I Improve My Family's Overall Well-being?
Back in January, chances are high that you made it a goal to live a healthier life. However, what if you now decided to take your family along for the ride?
During Family Wellness Month this May, our team at AFC Urgent Care Hixson wants you to consider not only making health a priority for yourself but for your family as a whole.
How Much Exercise Should My Family Be Getting?
The amount of exercise you need each day varies by age. Children and teens should get at least 60 minutes of physical activity each day, while adults should get at least 30 minutes on most days of the week.
The key to staying motivated to work out is to find something fun to do as a family. Whether it is going outside and playing a game of soccer or taking a walk or bike ride after dinner, it is important to motivate one another to get out and exercise for better, overall health.
Exercise Ideas for a Family
- Have a Nerf fight.
- Host a family boot camp.
- Have a dance party.
- Jump rope together.
- Take a family walk.
- Go for a hike.
How Can My Family Eat Better?
Everyone’s days are usually jam-packed before they even begin. The drive-thru looks extremely appealing when you have worked all day and your children had sports or extracurricular activities after school.
However, convenience is not the best for your health. Therefore, make it a point to add more fruits and vegetables into most meals, especially adding in more greens!
Good Greens to Eat
- Spinach
- Broccoli
- Asparagus
- Green beans
